Thank you for introducing a quiz to October Buses, albeit masquerading as an obituary. The late Sir David Mitchell is depicted sitting in the cab of a bus. Of much greater interest to me is the question of the vehicle's identity. There are not many clues, but it can at least be determined that it is a Leyland Atlantean with a low driving position, the driver's seat is moquette covered, it has a curved windscreen, it belongs to an operator that specified two-way radios and it has a low mounted offside mirror. I suggest that it is a Southampton Leyland Atlantean/East Lancs. Can this be confirmed?
