FoKAB stages its last New Year's Day running day

Friends of King Alfred Buses has made a New Year resolution that the 1 January Winchester running day will be the last for this popular event. From 2015 it will follow a new format later in the year. FoKAB, which celebrates the King Alfred company, which operated from 1920 to 1973, expects to have over 40 buses running in passenger service in Winchester on New Year's Day, but says the event needs to change. The bus station, which Stagecoach makes available for the running day, is to close with the Silverhill redevelopment likely to go ahead.
