Merlin's ghost survives on a Go-Ahead Citaro

Go-Ahead London has marked the 50th anniversary of the start of London's central area Red Arrow services by painting a Mercedes-Benz Citaro in the style of the AEC Merlins that London Transport introduced in the 1960s. Red Arrow, using standee single-deckers and charging a flat fare, began on 18 April 1966, filling gaps in the Underground service with high frequency limited stop services. All-electric Alexander Dennis-bodied BYD single-deckers should start replacing the Citaros on surviving services 507 and 521 from Waterloo from late summer.
