Single-deck deliveries slip to end of the year

The first BYD single-deck electric bus chassis for Go-Ahead London General's Red Arrow routes 507 and 521 are in Falkirk and now being bodied by Alexander Dennis. There has been some slippage of dates, with the first six completed buses expected in London by the end of August and all 51 ready for service by the end of the year instead of the summer as originally announced. Alexander Dennis engineers have been to China to study their technology while BYD engineers have similarly been to Falkirk. The slippage might mean that there could be initial use of the few completed electrics based at Mandela Way garage, which has a few weekday and all weekend duties on the routes.
