The announcement in October 2014 Global News of the delivery to PolskiBus of 20 tri-axle Volvo B11Rs with Plaxton Elite-i inter-deck bodies mentioned that these were the first left-hand drive Volvos produced by Plaxton since 17 with 3.7m high Prestige bodies on B12 chassis were supplied mostly to French customers around 20 years earlier. A right-hand drive version of the two-axle B12 - this had a vertical rear engine and is not to be confused with the later B12B and B12M models with horizontal engines - was never sold in the UK owing to our lower maximum permissible rear axle loading, although this was remedied by production of the three-axle B12(T), several of which received Plaxton Excalibur bodies.
