Third time around: the history of Southern National

Southern National is into its third outing as a bus operator in south-west England. First time, it was the Southern National Omnibus Company, which lasted from July 1929 to December 1969. It continued the services of the National Omnibus & Transport Company in the area served by the Southern Railway, which had taken a 50% shareholding in this portion of its territory. Said portion really was two separate portions, one covering west Dorset and south-east Somerset, the other north Devon and north Cornwall.
