Wellington trolleybuses slip into history

The last trolleybuses in New Zealand were withdrawn in the small hours of 1 November when the Wellington system ran for the last time. The demise of the 68-year old system went virtually unnoticed by the general public. Trolleybuses, built by Designline in New Zealand, ran services as usual on 31 October. No special announcements or posters on the vehicles were evident and the last bus had no placard to denote the occasion.
