More delays for Cardiff's terminal plans

Cardiff is likely to remain without a central bus station until 2020 at the earliest, following a decision by the city council to seek new proposals for the development of a new facility. Cllr Russell Goodway, the cabinet member in charge of the project, has announced a twin-track approach. One is to go back to the existing developer and lodge a fresh planning application by the end of the year for a bus station to be funded by student accommodation, private rented and a small amount of office accommodation built over the terminal building. This replaces a previous proposal - since deemed unaffordable in the present financial climate - to provide offices and private flats above the bus station.
