Mayor Sadiq Khan and transport secretary Grant Shapps have agreed a £1.8billion funding deal to keep Transport for London solvent to the end of the current financial year. The emergency funding arrangements agreed between the government and TfL in May (Look in on London, July) were extended for a further two weeks from 17 October as talks on a further bailout became increasingly acrimonious.
