Luckily for a popular family-run rural business like Worth's of Enstone in the north of Oxfordshire, adapting to change proved no problem at all. 'I remember when old Dickie Worth used to drive the bus,' I overheard one elderly woman say fondly to another passenger amid general laughter when I boarded service 69 in Charlbury some years ago. It was before anyone on board knew that circumstances a year or two later would bring their chance (on that service anyway) For a Rattling Good Ride - the company's priceless motto - to a close.
