When red Routemasters play on Salisbury Plain

As reported on p20 of this month's Look in on London section, the Imberbus event on Salisbury Plain, with London double-deckers providing a registered service one day a year to the lost village of Imber and other areas of restricted Ministry of Defence land, set another record in 2019 for the number of vehicles operated, passengers carried and money raised for two charitable causes. This little colour picture album, produced to mark the 10th anniversary of the first Imberbus, shows just how much it has grown from an idea born of four bus professionals sinking a few beers in a pub in Bath. From four Routemasters in 2009 to 29 vehicles this year when a few other types are allowed to share the vehicular limelight.
