Clean air plans prompt Connexions to quit Leeds route

Connexions Buses has withdrawn its 38 route in Leeds, saying that the city's requirement for a minimum of Euro6 emission standards would make it unviable. It ran the route, linking the White Rose Centre, Headingley, Moortown and Gledhow Lane, for the last time on 29 September, when preserved heritage vehicles provided additional journeys. It says this is partly because of competition and partly because the low emission zone would require it to replace its existing vehicles.
