National Express Group - through its Kent-based The Kings Ferry subsidiary - has expanded its presence in coach operation by acquiring the Berkshire-based Stewarts Coach Group. Stewarts was established in 1986 and operates from the Reading area in its own name, with coaches and also eight Mercedes- Benz Citaro buses on a staff contract to the Thames Valley Park business park on the eastern outskirts of the town, and from the East Midlands as Woods of Leicester. It has a combined fleet of over 60 vehicles. Both arms of the business have major corporate clients in the Thames Valley and Leicester areas and work with several Premiership and Championship football clubs. 'It is a fantastic company with an excellent record of delivering high quality services and is a welcome addition to our business,' says The Kings Ferry managing director Ian Fraser.
