Dennis T. Trexler

Dennis Trexler passed away June 25,2008, just a few weeks short of his 68th birthday. While he never seemed old with his quick wit and wry sense of humor, he was one of the "grand old men" of geothermal energy.rnDennis got interested in geothermal geology in the late 1960s when he worked with the State of California as a geologist. He later worked for Aerojet General developing remote sensing methods that he put to good use when he moved to Reno with his wife Georgianna (George) and took a position with the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology and the University of Nevada at Reno as a researcher in geothermal energy. Dennis did some of the earliest geothermal exploration in the Basin and Range, developing innovative methods to find geothermal resources without drilling deep holes.
