This is an exciting time for geothermal research,rndevelopment, and deployment and 2009 promises to create opportunities that geothermalists have long dreamed of. The nation's heightened awareness of global climate change and the need for a diversified energy portfolio rightfully bring geothermal energy into the national dialogue. Energy efficiency represents one part of the larger energy puzzle. There are many developments in our industry and at our association that deserve mention in this message.
