Yes, the name has been changed. As of 11:00 a.m. on May 19, in California's Imperial Valley, the Hudson Ranch I Geothermal Power Plant became the John L. Featherstone Plant. The new, 49 MWe power plant was renamed by EnergySource in honor of John Featherstone, whose lifetime of seminal work with hot mineralized brines beneath the Imperial Valley is reflected at many geothermal projects. After the ceremony I asked John if he had been surprised, and he said, yes, and very honored, as well.
