As your new President my first act is to thank our past President, Richard Campbell for doing such a great job last year. Richard left behind some very large shoes to fill. I hope I can do as good a job. Richard worked extremely hard as our President facing many challenges including the replacement of our executive director and the potential merger with the GEA. Both the GRC and GEA have the same goal: the promotion of our industry. It is only right that we speak with one voice. Both Boards voted to consolidate the two organizations. However, after advice from our legal consultant, we decided that combining a 501(c)(3) and a 501(c)(6) organization would be nearly impossible, especially given the tax implications. However, it is still our goal to join them as much as possible in as many ways as possible.
