A new world-wide geothermal energy partnership has been established to advance the industry. Announced at the United Nations Secretary-General's Climate Summit in New York in September, the Global Geothermal Alliance consists of Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Fiji, Iceland, Kenya, Nicaragua, the Philippines, the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank Group and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
