MOMIES ET OBJETS ETHNOGRAHIQUES DE L'EGYPTE ANCIENNE DANS LES COLLECTIONS DU MUSÉUM DU HAVRE : LE POINT DES CONNAISSANCES À L'AURORE DU XXIe SIÈCLE

Entre le dernier tiers du XIXe et le milieu du XXe siècle, la section « Egypte ancienne » du Muséum d'Histoire naturelle du Havre s'est enrichie d'antiquités diverses grâce aux dons de collectionneurs, d'amateurs et d'institutions comme le Ministère de l'Instruction publique, le Muséum national ou le Musée du Trocadéro à Paris. La Seconde Guerre mondiale a provoqué la destruction du Muséum et la disparition de la quasi totalité de son patrimoine. Après un rappel historique sur la diversité des collections égyptiennes, ce travail décrit les objets qui ont résisté aux destructions et qui figurent donc encore, pour certains très dégradés, dans les réserves du Muséum du Havre.%Between the last third of the XlXth century and the middle of the XXth century, the section "Ancient Egypt" of the natural history Museum of Le Havre has been enriched with varied antiques thanks to the gift of collectors, art-lovers and institutions as the public education Ministry, the National Museum or the Museum of Trocadero at Paris. The World War II has induced the destruction of the Museum and the destruction of the almost totality of its collections. After a short historical reminder about the diversity of the egyptian collections, this paper describes the artifacts which have resisted to the destruction and so are always visible, for some of them very defaced, in the stores of the Museum of Le Havre.
