Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP has purchased a petroleum and chemicals products terminal in Wilmington NC from ChemServe Inc. The terminal stores and transfers a variety of products and has more than 40 tanks with 1.1 million-plus barrels of capacity.rnThe terminal includes significant transportation infrastructure, liquid and heated storage, and custom tank blending capabilities for agricultural and chemical products. It offers a variety of both inbound and outbound services via rail, barge, ship, and truck, and gives trucks rapid access to two major highways. In addition, the facility handles several commodities including caustic soda solution, urea-ammonium nitrate solutions, asphalt, methanol, and various liquid chemicals.
