Osborne to lead new growth push

Chancellor George Osborne is to chair a new committee on implementing the government's growth agenda, which will include business secretary Vince Cable, former justice secretary Ken Clarke, Tory strategist Oliver Letwin and new cabinet minister David Laws. The Growth Implementation Committee, a subcommittee of the Economic Affairs Committee, has been set up to ensure the effective implementation of policies designed to boost infrastructure and construction. It will meet once a month, with Osborne as chair and Cable as deputy chair.
