Boris: 'Sell homes to Londoners first'

Boris Johnson has urged developers to sign a deal to market homes in the capital to Londoners first or at the same time as to overseas buyers, writes Iain Withers. At the Mipim property conference in Cannes, France, the mayor of London launched a "mayoral concordat" on housing development in the capital, signed by 50 large and small developers, aimed at ensuring homes are marketed in London first, rather than overseas. The concordat builds on a commitment made by 11 London housebuilders in December, initiated by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), to end the marketing of new homes to overseas buyers before UK residents.
