摘要

Contractors on the £18bn Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant have been given a boost by client EDF, which has told them to start spending money again on the long-delayed project. A further market source has told Building suppliers have been asked by EDF to restart "unconstrained spending" on the scheme. Building revealed last week the French energy giant had told its supply chain to start gearing up to deliver the project and that its budget will be released imminently, despite the fact a final investment decision has yet to be made. A source told Building: "EDF used the words 'unconstrained spending'to the supply chain to get the project moving. By 'unconstrained' they mean 'we're going to go on as if a decision has been made.'"
