Perforated cladding from manufacturer Proteus Facades created a floating facade at the West Yorkshire History Centre in Wakef ield. Architects selected Proteus to provide a single skin facade which wraps around the entire building. The panels were manufactured from 4mm perforated aluminium sheet metal and have a powder coat paint finish and were fitted by contractor Longworth Building Envelope Services. The rail and hanging systems were also supplied by Proteus and required a bespoke design. According to the company, it was selected for its capability to manufacture panels to exacting tolerances.
