The project lead for the architects on the Grenfell Tower refurbishment has said claims made about the insulation product used were as misleading as those in the horsemeat scandal of 2013 - in which foods advertised as containing beef were found to contain horsemeat. Neil Crawford, who is not a part Ill-qualified architect, took over day-to-day responsibility for co-ordinating Studio E's work on the high-rise block in 2014. He told the inquiry into the 2017 fire this week that the literature he had read on Celotex RS5000 led him to believe it was suitable for use on such buildings.
