Minister refuses to list at-risk school

The Welsh heritage minister has refused to list an acclaimed 1970s school building in Newport despite appeals by leading names including Richard Rogers, David Chipperfield, Zaha Hadid, Peter Cook and Richard Rogers.rnThe architects were among those supporting a bid by the Twentieth Century Society to list the 1972 brutalist Newport High School building by Evans & Shalev Architects - which is earmarked for demolition and replacement with a new school by HLM Architects.
