This has to be one of the fanciest school theatres in Britain. Designed by Tim Foster Architects for an international school in north London, the 360sq m auditorium seats 439 and is finished with myriad high-spec surfaces.rnThe practice won the competition in 2003, started on site in July 2006, and completed the project last November. The brief was to redesign an existing theatre located on the ground floor of the school, built in 1970.rn"It was an old, tired space, and it had a low ceiling and a wide fan shape typical of US theatres," says associate Matthew Baker.
