Architects stand to benefit from a ￡60 million fund to help bring disused London properties back into use.rnThe cash injection was promised on Tuesday by mayor Boris Johnson to ease the housing crisis affecting the capital. It will target long-term dilapidated and - for the first time - listed properties as priorities for renovation.rnThe announcement came at the launch of English Heritage's Heritage at Risk Register, a "Domesday book" of threatened buildings and landmarks across the UK.rnAccording to the register, one in 12 of some 70,000 protected sites - including listed buildings, monuments and gardens - are at high risk from neglect or decay. It says half of the 572 in London are suit-able for reuse.
