I agree with David Birkbeck (Debate January 25) that volume housebuilders and the architectural profession don't have much to do with each other, bar occasional sniping.rnThis is a shame, as many UK practices are now enthusiastic about building better ordinary homes.rnMy experience as one of the judges of Europan 8, as mentioned by Birkbeckrnin his piece, was that the site's owner, English Partnerships, hadn't the appetite (or the remit?) to turn a competition winner into bricks and mortar.
