Chipperfield shrinks to fit

David Chipperfield Architects' winning design for a Zurich art gallery extension has been modified to better fit the site. The building will now be 6% smaller, and more open to its surroundings, in accordance with the jury's recommendations. It is also 2.8m slimmer. But the basic concept that won Chipperfield the Zurich Kunsthaus extension remains the same.
