Like giant tin cans in space. That's how the International Space Station is described by one of its architects (see page 10). It doesn't sound a very comfortable place to be confined for six months, nor does it sound much like architecture.rnAnd to its critics, the station is an irrelevance, a vast vanity project that none of the participating countries will pull out of, but none are entirely committed to either.
