Mobile Solutions is a small exhibition of mobile objects selected by the curators because of their intent "to solve something or to generate an alternative situation for the people and communities that come into contact with them". Mackintosh lecturer and artist Justin Carter exhibits a bicycle adapted for pedestrians to borrow to cross a bridge in Stavanger. Over the course of a day, the sum total of their trips back and forth charges batteries on the bike to illuminate a nearby underpass the following evening. An accompanying video depicts Carter pushing another device around the streets, inviting locals to chat with him about energy consumption while turning a hand-cranked dynamo to generate power.
