Does the word 'beauty' help the housing debate?

Talking in terms of beauty and ugliness is not a terribly helpful way of framing the debate. The reality is that volume housebuilders are responsible for the majority of housing in Britain and they are the people we need to influence. The way to do that is not through aesthetics, but through the bottom Line. If their houses did not sell, they would do things differently. But they do sell, so they do not perceive a need to change anything.
