The term 'disease' covers a multitude of sins. Malaria, cancer, schizophrenia, and sickle-cell anaemia are very different types of phenomena, but all are widely regarded as disease. According to the Biostastial Theory proposed by Christopher Boorse, blindness, sundburn, drunkenness, and starvation are all Diseases too. Even without going this far, however, it is hard to imagine a more Heterogeneous cateogry of phenomena.
