Wherever you stand on the arguments for and against anthropogenic climate change, there are factors that suggest a need for action, urgently: finite resources; global population growth; increasing standard-of-living demands. Somewhere one imagines that Thomas Malthus, the dyspeptic social Darwinian, must be thinking, "I told you so."rnHand-in-hand with improved standards of living and increases in disposable income is a desire for a beer, one properly brewed and adorned with an enviable 'look-at-me' badge. Or it may be a simpler need for a beer to be enjoyed without fear of being brought low by a tainted concoction from an illegal still. (Think here of the success of Senator in Kenya's shanty towns.)
