Another great show at Sheffield

March traditionally brings about the start of spring in the UK as well as the annual conference of the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA). Following last year's change of venue from Stratford to the much larger Pond's Forge in Sheffield, 2014 brought yet another move, this time out of the city centre to the iceSheffield venue. This new venue allowed the event to be split between the two ice rinks, with the main presentation stage and bar being separated from the industry exhibition by a connecting tunnel. This allowed for a lively trade exhibition to run alongside a quieter AGM and presentation programme, a much better arrangement which allowed the 100 exhibiting suppliers to conduct business within their expectations of the event. With 800 delegates visiting BeerX over the four days, a series of industry and technical speeches, 2,500 evening and weekend public visitors and 350 beers on tap the event achieved all of its goals of presenting the SIBA brewers to a diverse audience.
