Whatever you call him, Robert Davis, of Sacramento, California, is a man with a mission, and the result is a fascinating look at what lies hidden in the closets and attics of our photographic past. For the better part of 15 years, Davis has scoured antique shops, garage sales, bazaars, and flea markets, looking for photographs to rescue. He finds pictures that have been lost or abandoned by the people who once cherished them, and if the price is right he buys them.
