Joseph Bellows Gallery: Sung and Unsung Heroes of the 1970s

Produced after the socially and politically charged documentary photographs of the turbulent 1960s, and in anticipation of, or in simultaneity with the New Topographics, the images reproduced here represent one of the last great periods of gelatin silver prints made prior to the advent of digital imaging. They also represent just a small sampling of Joseph Bellows' superb collection of vintage prints housed in the La Jolla, California gallery that bears his name.
