Westchester, Ill.-based Ingredion Inc. and Chicago-based PureCircle Ltd. have announced Ingredion will acquire a 75 percent stake in PureCircle. The companies expect the transaction to close during the second half of 2020, subject to approval by PureCircle's shareholders and receipt of the required regulatory approvals. Upon completion of the acquisition, Ingredion and PureCircle intend to provide technologies that solve formulation challenges faced by today's food and beverage developers, the companies said in a statement.
