Suddenly we find ourselves in an upside-down world. Most of the positive economic news is taking place in the emerging markets (what we used to call, inaccurately, the south) and most of the negative stuff is in the north, in the so-called developed markets. It is the exact reverse of the situation most of us grew up with.
