Brazil's corruption scandal has tainted the financial sector with the arrest of BTG Pactual's chief executive Andre Esteves for allegedly attempting to obstruct the investigation centred on state-run oil giant Petrobras. China has become a shareholder in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in a bid to open up investment opportunities by Chinese groups in Europe.
