Lessons from Leaving

Living abroad, and even traveling abroad, can certainly be considered perks of a scientific career. Having worked in five different countries, experiencing culture shock, crowds filled with strangers, and communication barriers every time, I now realize that traveling is a perk, but not without its predicaments. I may need to pick up and leave again soon, and I found myself wondering if I have learned anything from my ravels.
