The Hunter Valley region of New South Wales could be considered a climatic wonder. If it were not for the hills protecting and guiding a cooling influence through the valley floor, it would be almost impossible to grow grapes in the region. Generations of winemaking experience has been joined by some ex-bankers and a passionate bunch of wine people, resulting in a region that not only turns out world-class Semillon and Shiraz, but a place where Italian, Spanish and other French grape varieties have found a potential home.
