摘要

In a multi-machine power system, outputs of individual machines are determined by various constraints, including cost and availability. Network load in a power system is constantly changing and Automatic Generation Controllers (AGO are there to meet load demand without any impact on system frequency. It is anticipated that the total cost will still remain optimum after the adjustments. The current technique of AGC involves significant hardware and computational complexities. This paper proposes an easier and cheaper way of implementing the AGC functions on a single chip FPGA. An interactive display of all variables are still retained for easy operator record keeping and decision making. The algorithm developed here is general, but tested on a simple five-generator system with varied fuel characteristics.
