Victorian Auditor-General's Office:'Recovering and Reprocessing Resources from Waste' — independent assurance report to Parliament

In June 2019, the Victorian Auditor-General's Office published its report on Recovering and Reprocessing Resources from Waste~1 (VAGO Report). It came at a time of intense focus on the waste industry in Victoria, following on from fires at waste stockpiles and as the China export issue was beginning to bring the waste issues into sharp focus in the mainstream media and community. There are ongoing investigations into the issues with new policies and reports scheduled for release from October 2019 into early 2020. This article, however, focuses on the findings of the VAGO Report.
