Modelling of Dynamic Targeting to Prosecute Time Sensitive Targets in the Air Operations Centre

Though C2 is a critical component of the armed forces, establishing clear goals, defining limitations and providing coordinated engagement, the study of C2 and its effectiveness is not straightforward because C2 systems are complex and exhibit behaviour that may be unpredictable. Dynamic targeting is an important C2 process in the AOC because it can be used to rapidly engage high value targets. This process is subject to a highly dynamic environment due to differences and variations in such variables as: 1. The target to prosecute, 2. Battlespace conditions, 3. Red force capability, 4. Operator workloads in the command centre, 5. Outcomes of decision making, and 6. Order and timing for tasks undertaken.
