摘要

The results indicated that the EUD-based optimisation parameter 'a' spans in a useful range between -3 to 3 when tested in the clinical cases. The use of EUD-based optimisation can effectively reduce the number of constraints in both the simple and complex planning volumes. The EUD-based constraint is particularly useful for the parallel organs such as the parotid in the head and neck case. In this case the objective can easily be satisfied with EUD-based constraint and the plan optimisation is also faster when compared to the dose-volume based constraint optimisation. The EUD-based optimisation is a useful planning tool. It creates more flexibility by adding another degree of freedom in the IMRT planning process.
