The papers in this issue illustrate how chemistry and physics influence the indoor atmospheric environment in ways that can differ markedly from their outdoor impacts. They are derived from presentations initially made at "Indoor Air 2005-the 10th International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and Climate" held in Beijing, China. The submissions came from China, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Sweden and the USA, and are roughly divided into two broad topics: chemical transformations of indoor pollutants and physical factors that influence the concentrations of such pollutants.
