Color displays on mobile telephones were first introduced in Japan before they were offered in other countries. In the global market, about 23 percent of mobile phone users accepted such color displays in 2002. By the end of 2003, it is expected that the acceptance rate will reach 50 percent of the world's market. Market acceptance of color displays will be evident in Japan, Korea, Europe, China and United States.
