Sharp to Beef up Image Sensor Business with High-Pixel CCD

Sharp Corporation is set to expand its charge coupled device (CCD) image sensor business. As part of this effort, the company will release in August a 1/2.3-inch high-pixel CCD image sensor with a total pixel count of 20 million, which is the highest in the industry to date, designed for compact digital still cameras.
